NATURE IN MOTION

Don West allowed his artistic talent to lie fallow for fifty years even though, as a child, he had won acclamation and encouragement for his youthful endeavours from educator Arthur Lismer (Group of Seven artist). Now, as of April 2007, he has finally taken brush in hand once again to pursue that talent.  Don explores “Nature in Motion”. In doing so, he is producing canvasses that:
·      interpret plants as personified objects full of human emotions.  ·      present still life subjects in full motion ·      evoke the sense of time passing, rich harvests, old friends and half forgotten memories·      engage the viewer’s imagination. 
Don has exhibited at:
  •   Fall For Art  2007-2011  (East Hawkesbury)
  •    2008 Art in the Park   (Ottawa)
  •    Nepean Fine Arts League, Members’ Exhibition 2008-11    (winner of the “2nd award of excellence”) 
  • Expressions of Art 2008 (West Carleton Art Society)
