- Title: The Protector
- Medium/Media: Watercolour
- Dimensions: Framed to 20" X 24"
- Price: $300
- Notes:
This painting is my third of Venetian mascaroni or carved stone heads over archways of palazzi. Most of these Venetian mascaroni are about three or four hundred years old! I find them fascinating!
This one reminds me of a lion! I called it The Protector in part because of the word "custodiat", that appears carved in the archway....May ( the Lord or Master of the house) guard...... It is an original watercolour painted from my own reference photo. It's approximately 19" X 16" and matted and framed under glass to 20" X 24" in a simple silver metal frame.
*First prize for watercolour at the Ottawa Art Association Annual Juried Show in April 2012*

- Title: The Independent Ones
- Medium/Media: Watercolour
- Dimensions: 18" X 24"
- Price: $300
- Notes:
This is a varnished watercolor on a birch panel. It can be displayed without glass and without a frame for a very modern look. The huge cherries look tantalizing in a dark plate with fascinating reflections while three "independent" cherries sit boldly on a delicate lace.

- Title: Into the Lion's Den
- Medium/Media: watercolour
- Dimensions: framed to 18" X 22"

- Notes:
This original watercolor depicts a doorknocker on an old weathered Venetian door. A winged lion was one of the main symbols of the old Republic of Venice and lions appears everywhere in Venice, from St. Mark’s Square to this humble door. This lion certainly appears as the protector of the secrets that lie beyond this door!
I have really taken the time to create the textures in the background and the subtle reflections of the old metal. This painting has been professionally framed with archival materials: the simple black metal frame and the white mat with a grooved line really make this painting pop!

This is an original watercolor from my own reference photo of a Venetian mascarone (a carved, stone head on the keystone of an archway). This noble Venetian has been watching the entrance of this palazzo for about five hundred years! It is part of my Memories of Venice series and is a great companion piece to my other mascarone painting, The Gate Keeper. After painting these stone faces, I somehow feel very close to them. They seem to watch over me:-)
This painting was created on Arches 140lb Cold Press paper with professional grade paints. It is matted to 14" high by 18" wide and framed to 20″ × 24″ in a silver metal frame.

This is an original watercolor from my own reference photo of a Venetian mascarone (a carved, stone head on the keystone of an archway). This old, stately guy has been watching the entrance of this palazzo for about five hundred years! I took the reference photo from underneath and at an angle from the mascarone, creating an unusual perspective. It is part of my Memories of Venice series.

- Notes: I love cherries with their bright lustrous colors! I also love painting lace..So, painting cherries on linen lace is a real pleasure! I even had a lot of fun setting up this still life in my studio...I have to admit that I had more cherries than this when I started taking the pictures:-) Those cherries were delicious!
