I am an Ottawa-based emerging artist who attended the Fine Art Program at Georgian College in Barrie Ontario. Afterwards I then transferred to the University of Lethbridge where I studied for a year and completed four professional courses, two in art history and two fine art independent study studio courses. Through my time at both Institutions I have participated in four Exhibitions, one solo and three group exhibitions. Since then I have been building on my education through professional experience and working on building a new body of work for future exhibitions. My desired working mediums are drawing, sculpture and printmaking.
My artist practice involves animal life as a central aspect of my drawing and sculptural explorations, using animal imagery as a metaphor for human internal tendencies and iniquities. The subjects are an anthropomorphic vision, facilitating my personal emotional growth and my therapeutic working process. The animal subject refers to the animalistic instinctual behavior in internal human feelings and thought processes. The animal becomes a symbolic expression of a sense, a feeling, or a state of mind that I experience or witness. I mirror the behavior of the animal to human thought processes that I convey. By manipulating the physical features of the form and the composition, it assists to communicate these feelings
