Malcolm Surette

Primarily a landscape artist, I was born in 1940 and raised in the small Acadian community of Surette's Island in Nova Scotia. In the late l950s I moved to Ottawa and began a federal government career that spanned 37 years. Now retired, I live in Gatineau and devote my full time to painting. I draw my inspiration from nature, particularly from the shores of Nova Scotia and rural Québec. I love contrasting colours, lights and shadows. My work hangs across Canada and the USA, and two pieces in France.
