Jianfen Wells

Jianfen Wells was born in northeast China, 1961, to a family with generations of artist in many field. At age 13 she started sketch training by a master artist named Chaoyang Zhang. She attended the Beijing Nationality University of fine arts from 1984 to 1986. Ever since then she has worked as an art teacher, an art editor, and an art director in Beijing China until she moved to Ogdensburg, NY in 2003.
Jianfen joined the Massena Artists Association in New York State in 2004, and she earned “The Artist of The Year’ in 2005. She had her acrylic painting ‘Tulip by the Window’ selected by Frederic Remington Art Museum in Ogdensburg, NY of the International artist exhibition in 2009. Her acrylic painting ‘Cockscomb Flowers’ was selected by Roland Gibson Gallery at University of SUNY Potsdam, NY in 2011. She had her acrylic painting ‘Water of the Lake’ and ‘Lake Afterglow’ selected by Frederic Remington Art Museum at the 2016 members juried art exhibition, she won the first prize. Jianfen Wells was accepted as a member of National Association Of Women Artists of US in November, 2016.
