How to add art works to a member's gallery

Prepare one or more digital pictures in JPEG format (the filename extension - the last 3 letters of the filename - should be "jpg"). The size of the picture should not exceed 500KB. How to prepare a digital picture is beyond the scope of this tutorial.

Log on using the artist's account that was previously created.
After logging on, you should see the Admin Panel
Click on the Content link
Click on the Pages link

To review the current art work portfolio expand "The Gallery" and then "Artists" line items by clicking on the caret (the little sideway triangle at the start of the line). Expand the artists' line item.
Note, if no works have been created then there will not be a caret in front of the artist's name.

To add a work of art,

Click on Add New Content

In the Content Type drop-down field (1st field -- has a button with a triangle pointing downwards immediately to the right of the field) select the entry "Item Page".

Enter the "Title" of the art work in the 2nd field, and enter the same title in the field "Menu Text" (3rd field) again.

Using the "Parent/Category" drop-down list (4th field -- has a button with a triangle pointing downwards immediately to the right of the field) select the artist's name. You may have to scroll down a little to find it.

In the "Page Template" drop-down field (5th field -- has a button with a triangle pointing downwards immediately to the right of the field) nothing needs to be done since the desired entry, "Artist Page", should already be selected.

In the "Sub - Template" drop-down field (6th field -- has a button with a triangle pointing downwards immediately to the right of the field) select the entry "Item-CSS-based"

In the "Item Notes" field (7th field -- has an "editor" window with its own formatting controls) you can type any information other than the medium, dimension or price, that you would like to make the viewer aware of. Examples might include "private collection" or perhaps how the picture came to be.

Optionally fill the "Medium/Media" field.

Optionally fill the "Dimensions" field.

Optionally fill the "Price" field.

Click on the "Images" tab at the top of the grey box. You should then see the field "Images 1" along with a "Browse..." button.
Click on the "Browse..." button and select the digital picture on your machine (the one that was described at the start of this tutorial).

Click on the "Submit" button to begin the upload process. This will copy the file you selected to the OAA web server. The process will not harm your local file.

After a short delay you will be back on the main Content Pages screen. You can now add additional works by repeating the process. Youi can preview your gallery by finding the magnifying glass icon next to the line that has your name and clicking on that. This will open a new browser window with your updated gallery. This is the view that outside visitors would also see.
